Study on Sono-photocatalytic Degradation of Chlorobenzene in Wastewater
Chlorobenzene(CB), one of the persistent organic pollutants (POPs), is a refractory semivolation organic compound and non-biodegradable. Treatment of CB contaminated wastewater by traditional method is essentially impossible. In the study, the sonophotocatalytic degradation of CB was examined in aqueous suspension using the TiO2 as photocatalyst. Some factors affecting the degradation rate of CB were also studied. The results indicated the chlorobenzene underwent a fast degradation. In the process, the pH value of the dispersion had little effect on the degradation rate of CB, while the amount of TiO2, initial concentration of CB and H2O2 affected it greatly.
