Time-Frequency Analysis Methods of Seismic Signal

The traditional signal analysis method is based on Fourier transform,which is a global transformation,therefore it cant characterize the local time-frequency features. Time-frequency analysis overcomes this shortcoming. It is a powerful tool for nonstationary time-varying signal analysis,and becomes a hot spot in modern signal processing research. Because seismic signal is a nonstationary signals,it provides us a method for getting the joint distribution of information in time domain and frequency domain. It clearly describes the relationship of seismic signal frequency changing along with time for us. This paper focuses on the generalized Wavelet transform,introduces the concept of time-frequency analysis,for example,Short-time Fourier transform,Wigner-Ville distribution. Wavelet transform .It does some research in the applications of seismic signal processing about the Wavelet transform.
