Research on Application and Development of ICT in Higher Education
Higher education is undergoing a profound transformation. Firstly,with the rapid development of society,human resources requirements of a higher quality demands that colleges and universities should train more talents who meet the needs of modern society. Secondly,higher education itself needs to be innovated for development. The shackles of the traditional mode of education must be broken through. Both of these two sides need Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a support. It is the further development of Chinas institutions in higher learning and the only way to meet the requirements of international trends in education. For the purposes of our school in development,it is necessary to establish new concepts of education,improve teachers information literacy,reform teaching system such as curriculum framework based on 21st century,and create a strong atmosphere of ICT. Construction of hardware is the base of ICT and the core is construction of software. Finally,ICT development and application in Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication is illustrated. Through this,the major difficulties and methods in experiencing are analyzed. It proved that ICT is valid and feasible in higher education.
