THE LIQUEFACTION REACTION OF CORNSTALK IN SUB/SUPERCRITICAL ETHANOL WITH BCR-2 AS CATALYST
Liquefaction of cornstalk in sub/supercritical ethanol with BCR-2 as catalyst was tested with a stainless steel autoclave (1 L). The effects of BCR-2 usage (0-3 g), reaction temperature (533-593 K), ethanol to corn stalk ratio (2-7) and holding time(0-60 min) on the liquefied product yields were investigated. The maximum yield of BO (HO and OD) which was obtained at catalyst usage 1 g, reaction temperature 583 K, ethanol to corn stalks ratio 5 and holding time 20 min was increased by 6.54% compared with non-catalytic experiments. The GC/MS measurements for the HO and OD from the liquefaction with and without BCR-2 revealed that the two oils were both complex compounds. The BCR sample induced a significant increase in phenols and esters contents in HO and hydrocarbons content in OD compared to the non-catalytic experiment.
