FIBER MORPHOLOGY, CHEMICAL COMPOSITION AND HEMICELLULOSE PROHYDROLYSIS CHARACTERISTIC OF EULALIOPSIS BINATA
To prepare fiber for production of dissolving pulp, the fiber morphology, chemical composition and prehydrolysis of eulaliopsis binata were discussed. The results showed that eulaliopsis binata was lank. Its weighted fiber length was 1.33mm and fiber width was 12.58μm. And its cellulose content was 54.70% and hemicelluose (as represented by pentosans) content was 20.55%. The extraction rate of pentosans was up to 88.61% and the corresponding yield was 55.06% by using 1% sulfuric acid prehydrolysis at 160℃ for 60min. The fiber length decreased to 0.79mm after hydrolysis, and fines content increased from 5. 61% to 15.16%.
