CHLORITE DELIGNIFICATION SIMPLIFIES CHARACTERIZATION OF CHEMICAL PULPS
Chlorite delignification of unbleached chemical pulps is shown in this paper to be an efficient, fast and selective lab method to transform unbleached pulp samples to a bleached state without performing multi stage laboratory bleaching. Thus, much time is saved for a given number of pulp samples or a larger number of pulp samples can be studied for a given input of resources. However, appropriate delignification conditions have to be used to obtain high brightness and a high pulp quality.
