CHANGES OF LIGNIN MOLECULAR WEIGHT DISTRIBUTIONS OF ALKALIN PEROXIDE MECHANICAL PULP OF TRIPLOID OF POPULUS TOMENTOSA TREATED BY LACCASE AND LACCASE/MEDIATOR SYSTEM

The Alkalin Peroxide Mechanical Pulps (APMP) of Triploid of populus Tomentosa were modified by laccase and Laccase-Mediator-System (LMS) separately. The main parameter effects on pulp physical properties were studied. The two-stage method of enzyme-mild acidic hydrolysis was adopted to isolate lignin from the APMP and the modified pulp samples. Benzoylation of lignin samples was accomplished in ionic liquid to obtain complete dissolution in THF, which is the mobile phase in the process of the Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC). All the benzoylated lignin samples were tested through GPC dissolved in THF, and the molecular weight distributions of the various lignin samples were obtained. At the same time, the changes of molecular weight of the lignins before and after the modification processes of the APMP with laccase and laccase-mediator-system respectively were compared and studied. The differences of these two enzymes systems were also investigated and compared to contribute to the understanding of the mechanisms of laccase and LMS to the APMP pulps.
