CONTRIBUTION OF HIGH TEMPERATURE IN CHLORINE DIOXIDE BLEACHING

High temperature in D0-stage of chlorine dioxide bleaching is beneficial for saving chemical charge and improving fibers quality. This paper researched the influence of 90℃ instead of 65℃ in D0-stage on chlorine dioxide charge and fibers quality. The bleaching sequence of D0EopD1 was adopted to bleach oxygen delignified kraft eucalyptus pulp. To achieve the same brightness of 90% ISO, the bleaching process with high temperature saved 11.7% chlorine dioxide charge at laboratory scale, and the viscosity of pulp from high temperature bleaching process was increased 11.5% compared with that from routine temperature bleaching process. Simultaneously the handsheets made by pulp from high temperature bleaching process showed better strength properties.
