PEROXIDE BLEACHING PROPERTIES OF CTMP FROM EUCALYPTUS TERETICORNIS SMITH
As an excellent fast-growing hardwood fiber, Eucalyptus Tereticornis Smith is widely used in pulping and paper making. The effects of chemical charges and conditions on the brightness and brightness stability of E. Tereticornis Smith chemithermomechanical pulp (CTMP) are investigated in this paper. The results indicated that the brightness and its stability were improved with the increasing dosage of H2O2, NaOH, NaSiO3 and pulp consistency, meanwhile, an increasing dosage of MgSO4 caused the loss of brightness but had a slight effect on the brightness stability, and the temperature and time had small effects on the pulp brightness and its stability. The optimal bleaching conditions of E. Tereticornis Smith: pulp consistency 15%, H2O2 3.7%, NaOH 3%, Na2SiO3 2%, MgSO4 1.5%, temperature 70℃, time 2h. At the optimal conditions, pulp brightness can reach 82%ISO and the PC number was 0.8%.
