OPTIMIZING TREATMENT CONDITIONS OF LACCASE MEDIATOR SYSTEM FOR NaOH-AQ CORN STALK PULP BY RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY
Response surface methodology was applied to optimize laccase treatment conditions in the biobleaching of Soda-AQ corn stalk pulp. The effect of LMS treatment on subsequent bleaching was examined. The results showed that the optimal conditions of LMS treatment were as follows: laccase dose 27.7 IU·g-1odp, HBT 1%, treatment time 4 h. The results showed that the consumption of H2O2 in a P stage can save 83% when the pulp was pretreated with LMS, compared with that without LMS treatment, if to get the same pulp brightness (about 74%ISO). Furthermore, when the same H2O2 dose (2%) was used, the final bleached pulp with LMS pre-treatment can have additional brightness gain of over 10%ISO, additional Kappa number decrease of 2 units while maintaining the same pulp strength properties than the control.
