CHINESE DOMESTIC PULPS: OPTIMAL PRODUCTION AND PROPER CHARACTERIZATION
This keynote paper provides a short overview of about 20 scientific/technical papers that were produced jointly by Eka Chemicals AB and Karlstad University in Sweden and South China University of Technology in China in the past decennium. It deals with various aspects of processing and characterization of wheat straw, reed, bagasse, bamboo and eucalyptus. Bamboo and wheat straw are covered in some detail, together with an evaluation of their potential in replacing imported soft and hardwood pulps in furnishes for the production of fine paper.
