EFFECT OF PREHYDROLYSIS AND ENZYME POST-TREATMENT ON DISSOLVING PULP FROM POPLAR
Dissolving pulps are the raw materials for the production of many different end-products. Poplar is a very good source of cellulose. In this paper, the prehydrolysis conditions of dissolving pulp from poplar were studied. The conditions of 1:6 ratio of liquor to chip, 120 minutes at the maxi temperature of 165 ℃ were desired in the prehydrolysis process. The results of OQP bleaching process of cooked pulp showed that the kappa number, pentosan content, α-cellulose content and brightness of bleached pulp were 1.7, 4.1%, 94.1% and 86.5%ISO, respectively. Upgrading experiment of dissolving pulp was researched by using xylanase and cellulase. The results obtained from this experiment indicated that the post-treatment of the dissolving pulp with these enzymes could increase α-cellulose content in dissolving pulp from 94.1% to above 97.0%.
