SEPARATIONS AND ANALYSIS OF PITCH COMPONENTS FROM THERMO MECHANICAL PULP TREATED WITH LIPASE
Thermo-mechanical pulp was treated with lipase and then the pitch extracted components were separated using DEAE-Sephadex ion-exchange method. Group functions were analyzed by infrared spectroscopy method. The test result indicates that acids and neutrals in pitch extracts could be separated effectively by ion-exchange means. The reaction of lipase was to break ester linkages in pitches. The ratio of neutrals deterioration in pitch after lipase treatment is about 60 wt%, and the deteriorations mostly are organic acids and alcohols.
