AUTO-CATALYZED ETHANOL PULPING OF POPLAR BY SALT-CATALYZED
In this paper, poplar auto-catalyzed ethanol pulping technology was improved by inorganic salt catalyzing in order to depress the temperature and press of cooking equipment. The condition experiment was adopted to discuss the effect of cooking factors on pulping. And the influence of different types of inorganic salt catalyzes to the pulping and performances of poplar pulp were also discussed. The results show that when the dosage of catalyze (MgCl2 ) is 3.0%(on oven dry materials), the better pulping parameters were ethanol consistency 65%, liquor ratio 1:10, 3.5h at 175 . Compared to the auto ℃ -catalyzed ethanol pulping, in the similar to pulping properties, the ethanol concentration increased from 60% to 65% and cooking time increased from 2.5h to 3.5h, but the cooking temperature decreased from 205℃ to 175℃ and the cooking press reduced greatly.
