COMBINED ENZYMATIC AND CHEMICAL CONTROL AGENT METHODS TO CONTROL DCS IN APMP

Polygalacturonic acids, the main contributor of anionic trash, could be degraded by pectinase into monomeric galacturonic acid, resulting in the elimination of the cationic demand (CD) of white water. The addition of chemical control agent could destabilize the Dissolved and Colloidal Substances (DCS), and decrease the CD of white water. In this paper, APMP slurry was treated by the pectinase, chemical control agents and the combined method respectively. Results show that the CD can be decreased by 51.86% when the white water from APMP slurry was treated by alkaline pectinase 1.5U/g (50℃, 30min, pH 8.0), and PA of 0.16%, HCS of 0.33% and CPAM of 0.06%, respectively. The DCS was analyzed by GC-MS and the results indicated that the chemical control agent could fix the fatty acid on the fibers and remove them effectively. The GC-MS analysis also proved that pectinase degraded the polygalacturonic acids into monomeric galacturonic acid effectively. The drainage and retention properties of pulp slurry were improved efficiently by the combined method treatment, and also the strength properties of hand-sheets increased obviously.
