UTILIZABLE TREATMENT OF EFFLUENT FROM HIGH YIELD PULPING OF POPLAR BY ASPERGILLUS NIGER S13
The loads of COD and BOD of High Yield Pulping (HYP) effluent are higher than those of mechanical pulping, but lower than those of chemical pulping. The moderate load provides a chance for biological pre-treatment. The idea of cleaner production is making the best of everything in all processes. The biological pre-treatment process is for the purpose of cleaner production. The biological pre-treatment can reduce the pollution load and produce biomass at the same time which may have some values for byproduct. The conditions of biological pre-treatment were optimized by study of removal of COD and yield of biomass in this article. The optimized pretreatment conditions were: Aspergillus niger S13 is the selected species, volume of germ is 3%, medium pH6, culture for 44-52h at 150rpm, 30℃. The removal of COD was 48.77% and the yield of biomass was much than 6g/L under the optimized conditions. The IR analysis showed that some compounds have disappeared after the S13 pretreatment. UV-scan showed that the removal of acid-soluble lignin was up to 60% and the removal of color reached 28.57% after biological treatment. Further studies on biomass sludge show that content of protein was 8.91%, and the total amino acid was 9.16% in the sludge. Eight kinds of essential amino acids were 47.16 % occupy of total amino acid in the biomass sludge.
