EFFECTS ON FIBER MORPHOLOGY AND REFINING IN PRETREATING CHEMI-MECHANICAL PULP WITH CELLULASE

The pretreating effects of poplar chemi-mechanical pulp with cellulase on the refining were studied. The effects of cellulase dosage on the energy consumption, pulp physical properties, and fiber morphology were also studied and we preliminary researched its reaction mechanism through the analysis of SEM and AFM. The results showed that energy consumption was lower with the increasing of enzyme dosage. However, the results showed that enzymatic treatment had negative effects on the pulp strength properties and fiber length. We also studied the reasons for that. The fiber treated with cellulase was easy to break up and to be cut in the process of refining through the analysis of OM, SEM and AFM. So the physical properties of the handsheet made from the pulp decreased.
