PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF PAPERMAKING SLUDGE-ACRYLIC ACID- ACRYLAMIDE SUPER ABSOBENT RESIN USING MICROWAVE SYNTHESIS
As the relative shortage of landfill, arbitrary disposal of papermaking sludge is widespread in China, causing significant pollution for the environment. Therefore, innocent treatment of papermaking sludge is very urgent. In this research, a novel super absorbent resin was prepared using papermaking sludge, acrylic acid and acrylamide as raw materials under microwave radiation conditions. The optimal conditions included 450 w of the microwave radiation power, 0.7% of the cross linker dosage, 2% of the initiator dosage, 1:2 of mass ratio of acrylamide and acrylic acid, 80% of the neutralization degrees, 20% of mass ratio of papermaking sludge and monomer, and 5 min of the microwave radiation time. Under the optimum conditions, the adsorption capacities of the resultant product for the distilled water, tap water and 0.9% NaCl solution could reach 705 g/g, 358 g/g and 96 g/g, respectively.
