STUDY ON BASE PAPER FOR TEXTILE YARN APPLICATIONS
In the selection of new weaving materials, the base paper for textile yarn applications must have such characteristics as low specific surface area (~16g.m-2), high dry and wet strength, and scrub-enduring ability, etc.. In this research, the imported base paper production was analyzed. The results showed that high quality base paper for textile yarn by using wet nonwoven techniques were obtained with a furnish of softwood pulp at 75oSR, cotton pulp at 60oSR, bacterial cellulose 10000 evolutions by standard apparatus, water-soluble fiber 3,500 revolutions of PFI mill after it mixed with plant fibers, and with the addition of such chemicals as 0.07% PEO, 1.8% PAE, 0.3% CMC. The fiber composition is softwood pulp 81%, cotton pulp 10%, bacterial cellulose 7% and water-soluble fiber 2%. The blending order of the pulps is: wood pulp fiber 仺 cotton pulp fiber 仺 bacterial cellulose 仺 water-soluble fiber. The blending order of the chemical agents is: PEO 仺 PAE 仺 CMC. Under these conditions, the physical properties of the base paper for textile yarn applications were as follows: tensile index 71.10 N.m.g-1丆wet tensile index 30.03 N.m.g-1, tearing index 8.01mN.m2.g-1, folding strength 460 times and tensile stretch 2.46%. It was shown that the physical properties of the base paper reached the level of the imported ones, and can satisfy the demand of base paper for textile yarn applications.
