PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF CORE-SHELL TYPE FLUORINATED CATION SURFACE SIZING AGENT

The core-shell type fluorinated surface sizing agent (FAE) synthesized by self-made cationic polymer as dispersing agent in the soap-free polymerization technology was prepared with styrene, butyl acrylate, acrylic acid and dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate as raw materials. The optimum process conditions were w(AIBI)=0.3%, m(BA)∶m(St)=1:1, w(FA)=5%(total amount of the monomer), w(AA)=4%(total amount of the monomer), T=60 , ℃ total reaction time=4h. IR (Infrared spectrum) and other methods of testing paper physical properties were used to identify the structure of polymer, morphology and application character of latex particles. This applied experiment mainly used the core-shell type fluorinated nanometer surface sizing agent(FAE) with oxidized starch to prepare a new surface sizing agent which was used for surface sizing of the corrugating medium. The results showed that the new surface sizing agent not only improved the water proof property, but also enhanced the strength of the corrugating medium. When the mass proportion of the FAE and oxidized starch was 15 85, the size content ∶ of single-side surface sizing was about 2 g/m2. Compared with the control sample, the cobb value, the ring crush index, the tensile index of surface sized sample increased 95%, 85% and 82% respectively. The morphology of latex particles were spherical and distributing.
