APPLICATION OF CATIONIC STARCH TO THE REPRODUCTION OF PAPER FROM DEINKED PULP
The application of cationic starch to the reproduction of paper was studied. The strengthening, retention, and filtration and functions of cationic starch to reproduced paper, and the influence of cationic starch on optical performance of reproduced paper were discussed. It was showed that the effect s of cationic starch on the strength of paper from deinked pulp were small. Cationic starch can increase the retention of fillings and influence the optical properties of reproduced paper. The retention of fines in reproduced paper increased further when the fixed agent was used with cationic starch.
