THE PREPARATION OF ALUMINUM-AMMONIUM CATIONIC STARCH
The advantages that use wet-process to compound aluminum-ammonium cationic starch (ACS) are short reaction time and simple process. The optimum reaction conditions are: the amount of PAC-PDA is 20%, the reaction temperature is 90 , ℃ and reaction time is 60min. Cationic starch with DS of 0.034 (slightly higher than outsourcing CS (0.03)) and RE of 62.5% was obtained. The fluidity of aluminum-ammonium cationic starch synthesized under this condition is good, its viscosity is about 110mPa.s; charge density is 0.6146meq / g, also higher than the outsourcing one (0.4968 meq / g); solid content is about 4%. The retention effects when using ACS are better than CS whether in the deinking pulp or in the chemical bleaching; and when ACS used in a smaller amount, it goes with dual function of retention and enhanced.
