IMPROVEMENT OF WET-END CHEMISTRY PROPERTIES OF CMP BY ENZYME TREATMENT

Cellulase, xylanase, celluclast BG and pectinase were used respectively to treat chemistry mechanical pulp (CMP) in this paper. The effects of enzyme treatment on pulp wet-end chemistry properties were studied. The results indicated that the CMP with enzymes treatment has higher zeta potential, shorter drainage time and reinforced sizing effect of AKD in comparison with original pulp. The CMP treated by above enzymes can get a better retention when cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM) was used as the retention aid.
