STUDY ON BEATING CHARACTERISTICS OF ASPEN BLEACHED EXTRUDER CHEMI-MECHANICAL PULP
Taking industrial production of aspen Bleached Extruder Chemi-Mechanical Pulp (BECMP) as the research object and comparing it with the pulp of aspen P-RC APMP, the evolution of refining process of aspen BECMP was discussed by contrasting the characteristic curves of these two pulps. The changes of refining characteristics of BECMP were explained as viewed from fiber ultrastructure by means of Scanning Electron Microscopic (SEM) of two pulps under different beating degrees. The result showed that for both medium consistency refining (the pulping density was 10%) and low consistency refining (the pulping density was 1.56%), the beating degrees of the BECMP compared with P-RC APMP rose more quickly than P-RC APMP in the beating process when they reached the same beating degree. On the condition of medium consistency refining, the speed difference of beating degrees between two pulps improved was larger. The main reasons for these differences were that the degree of internal fibrillation of the BECMP was better than the P-RC APMP’s, which provided a better foundation for further fibrillation.
