THE INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT WET STRENGTH AGENT ON THE STRENGTH PROPERTIES OF FILTER BOARD

In this experiment, we use coniferous wood as raw materials to make paper, added with PAE resin, chitosan and CMC as wet strength agents respectively to enhance the papers strength properties. Then both the wet and dry tensile strengths of the paper were tested, and the infection of the type and amounts of wet strength agent were discussed. And then we got a conclusion that the PAE resin is the best wet strength agent in the enhancement of both the dry and wet strength, so it can be used in many filtration fields except in the food filter industry for the small toxicity it has. So we studied other strength enhancement systems and got an optimum wet strength agent which was chitosan/CMC dual strength enhancement system.
