THE STUDY ON COATING PROPERTIES OF NANOMETER PIGMENTS AND ITS EFFECT ON THE FASTNESS OF INK-JET PAPER
Production of color ink jet prints with excellent fastness properties generally requires the use of special coated papers. However, knowledge of the fastness properties obtained with such papers is, to date, quite limited 1. The use of nanometer pigments has been suggested as a means to obtain a coating that would combine the good properties of nanometer pigments coatings and conventional pigments coatings. This study examined the fastness of ink jet prints on nanometer coatings using conventional methods for measuring paper properties and print quality. The properties of the coatings were altered by using different types of nanometer pigments. The results indicated the effect of nanometer pigment coating. Compared with the conventional pigments, the color ink-jet printing images with nanometer pigments are difficult to occur to the phenomenon of color diffusion, which has good color reproduction and image clarity. Furthermore, added to the coating, they can greatly improve light resistance and water resistance of ink jet printing images.
