THE PREPARATION OF POLY (METHYL METHACRYLATE) -MODIFIED CACO3 BASE WATER-FREE COATING IN SUPERCRITICAL CARBON DIOXIDE
The dry coating process of paper provides an effective way to eliminate some of the limitations encountered with other techniques in wet-coated and the powdery coating provides possibilities to reduce the usage of water and save energy compared to the wet coating. This study focuses on the preparation of water-free coating materials. Mingled poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) and modified calcium carbonate inorganic pigment were obtained under water-free conditions in supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-CO2). In our previous studies, the reaction condition of the PMMA- pigment powdery coating was discussed. In this paper, the modified CaCO3 was added in the polymerization and the effect of the co-monomer was discussed and the experimental results indicated that is the pigment- doped polymerization in sc-CO2 was an ideal approach for obtaining the powdery coating materials for dry coating process.
