A COMPREHENSIVE RISK ASSESSMENT MODE FOR PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY
The productive process is a complex system in petrochemical industry. Any individual traditional risk assessment method was hard to afford effect assessment because of its own weakness. In this paper, a comprehensive risk assessment mode was provided in order to make the assessment of productive process very effective and feasible. The mode were a combination of Dows fire and explosion index, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Analysis), FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and analysis of the key reaction units in terms of process safety. The strengths of this mode were that all individual methods coordinated with each other, and gave full play to their own advantages during the risk assessment process. As a study case, the assessment mode was applied to the chloroethylene synthesis process. The results shown that the mode was suitable for conducting risk assessment in petrochemical industry.
