FREE VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF PIPE WITH A PART-THROUGH CRACK
Local flexibility is one of the most important parameters for dynamic analysis and damage identification of the cracked struc-tureiHowever.the solution for local flexibility coefficient of the pipe due to a crack is of limited use until now .The local flexibility e-quations of the pipe with a crack that straight front and part-through-the-thickness subjected to axial force.shearing force and bending moment were derived by using of theories of linear fracture mechanics and stress energy release principle. An adaptive quadra-ture-revisted (AQR) was used to perform the numerical integration to obtain the flexibility coefficients. These conquer the shortcoming that existing methods usually apply for calculating special load or non-hollow structure. The model test results from Naniwadekar et al were used to validate the accuracy of the proposed local flexibility .M oreover,a finite element model for cracked pipe was established to conduct the vibration analysis for cracked pipe-like structure. The vibration characteristics of a cantilever pipe and a simple support pipe were anaryzed. The results demonstrate that crack location, crack severity all have influence on the natural frequencies of cracked pipe-like structure.
