THE SECURITY AND STABILITY ANALYSIS OF CAP ROCK OF UNDERGROUND GAS STORAGE IN AQUIFER UNDER PRESSURE

Underground gas storage in aquifer is one of the important ways to reserve natural gas .It is composed of thick confined aquifer, cap rock and trap. Security and stability of underground gas storage has a decisive effect on it. In this paper, the changing laws about reservoir pressure were studied by numerical simulation method at different permeability and injection rate. The effect of reservoir pressure to the stability of cap rock is studied. The results show that reservoir pressure has an asymmetrical distribution with the relief of reservoir. Increasing of reservoir pressure is little at lower injection rate and greater permeability. The higher injection rate has an effect on the vertical deformation of cap rock and no effect on the horizontal deformation. The stress on the bottom of cap rock has a non - monotonic distribution in injection and production process.
