RAISING PIPELINE TECHNOLOGY FOR MINE SUBSIDENCE
ESX pipeline, which is the part of West-East Gas Pipeline, passes through a goaf area. Significant subsidence induced by underground coal mining has constituted a threat to the integrity of the pipeline by way of surface settlement and soil strains, which in-creases axial and flexural strains affecting its longitudinal strength. Though axial stress has been relieved twice in portions of the pipeline, operators preselected limit on stress has been reached again during a subsidence episode. Further relief of strain to prevent the limit from being exceeded may require raising portions of the pipeline.Thus, a raising was conducted. Firstly, monitoring datas of surface displacement were available for predicting the amount and distribution of settlement due to mine subsidence; meanwhile, depending on the amount of settlement, reasonable raising data were presented and discussed. Secondly, a numerical model of pipeline subjected to subsidence was built with loading condition of ground deformation predicted by monitoring data as well as Software CAESAR.I1 was used to analysis the problem. Finally, on the basis of monitoring data to the changes of the stress and strain of pipeline, execution steps were redefined. It was concluded that recommended practice for movement of in-service pipelines was capable of predicting the behavior of pipeline when it was subjected to mine subsidence, and this practice provided technical reference and theoretical basis to the design and construction of pipeline in goaf area.
