THE APPLICATION RESEARCH OF FAULT TREE ANALYSIS IN LNG LEAKAGE

Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) leakage would result in fire and explosion, low temperature frostbitten, asphyxiating and cold explosion and so on. Therefore, studies on the LNG leakage are of importance from the point of view of the safety. It has been extensively studied in recent years. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is a method with causal and logical relation indicating all kinds of factors caused danger. It has advantages of intuition, comprehension, and efficiency and so on1. Systematical studies on LNG leakage using FTA are short by now. Based on FTA, the factors causing LNG leakage were systematically analyzed in this paper. The fault tree with leakage accident as the top event was established and minimum cut-sets affecting the top events were obtained. Especially, the order of factors influencing LNG leakage accidents was quantitatively determined by carefully second calculating out the structure importance degree coefficients of basic events. According the above results, this work will provide reliable theory evidence for improving the level of safety operation and ensuring the safety of LNG storage,reliability of running, and accuracy of safety counter-measures.
