ACCURATE DIAGNOSISOF OIL PUMP MISALIGNMENT FAULT BASED ON IMPROVED LMD TIME-FREQUENCY ANALYSIS
The local mean decomposition (LMD) is a relatively new approach of adaptive signal analysis. The local means and envelope estknates of the signal need to be extracted in LMD algorithm, however, the conventional extraction approach brings some local errors and in a low ef ficiency of decomposition. To solve this problem, a new extraction approach by means of cubic B-spline fitting is proposed. The improved LMD time-frequency analysis is applied to the diagnosis of oil pump misalignment fault and the signal component of blade passng frequency component (BPF) could be extracted by this way. Then an accurate diagnosis method of misalignment fault based on BPF is proposed. The field application results verify the feasibty of accurate diagnosis that by use of BPF, and also demonstrate that the improved LMD time-frequency analysis has a higher time-frequency resolution.
