STUDY ON THE ACOUSTIC WAVE TRANSFER CHARACTERISTIC FOR LEAKAGE OF GAS TRANSMISSION PIPELINE
Leak detection and location for natural gas pipelines is more and more important with the fist development of natural gas industry. The method based on the acoustic teak detection and location for the natural gas transmission ppelne is studied. A device to detect high pressure and long distance pipeline leak location is designed and tested by similarity analysis at field transmission pipelnes, and a bt of experiments data based on acoustic leak detection of the natural gas pipeline are obtaned. The main influence factors including the operation pressure, leaking rates and leaking location are analyzed by extracting the signal characteristic and the transfer property of the acoustic wave is tested. The distribution of the wave different frequency bands are analyzed based on the test data, where most of the acoustic signals are concentrated in the range of 0 ~ 100 Hz. And the characteristic of accumulative value difference, mean vaiie difference and peak value difference of signals n adjacent itervals are plotted. Moreover, experiments on the leak position of natural gas pipeline are also conducted and compared with the calculated results of baking position correlation. According to the results of experiments, the acoustic leak detection method has good sensitivity and high locating accuracy for natural gas pipeline.
