STUDY ON MATERIAL RECOGNITION OF OIL TUBE BASED ON EDDY CURRENT TESTING USING MAGNETIC PROBE

In the long cycle of use, type markers of oil pjpehnes have become unclear, which makes it difficult to identify materials and bads to a mixture of various pipelines. When used in the underground, the mixed pipeline will result in a huge security risk, such as leakage, breakage, shedding and other accidents. In this paper, test of material identification of commonly used J55 and N80 oil tubes was conducted by eddy current method using magnetic probe. Results show: the size of response voltage is affected by lift-off, the direction of magnetic probe, the excitation frequency, etc. While magnetic probe is perpendicular to piperline and sinusoidal excitation frequency changes from 100Hz to 1700Hz, the response voltage decreases with the ncrease of excitation frequency. And at an excitation frequency of 100Hz-260Hz, the response voltage of two kinds of pipeline both have good linear relationship, and response voltage of J55 is significantly different from N80 at a excitation frequency of 150 Hz. Finally, a total of 366 oil tubes are recognized on the spot and, as a result, the recognition accuracy of the two pipelines is higher than 97%.
