PIG TRACKING AND LOCATING SYSTEM
A new type of tracking and locating system for the cleaning of the pipeline is introduced in the paper. This system includes the Management Centers in oil and gas transmission station, indicators distributed along the pipeline, positioning devices and the transmitting magnetic devices equipped on the Pig. By wireless mobile communication network, the Management Centers can set the operating parameters of indicators remotely. The indicators collect the signal of Pig passage and send the recognition results to theMan-agement Center. The positioning device is used to precisely locate the pig when it clogs in the pipeline. The magnetic launcher devices are used to launch to facilitate tracking and positioning of specific magnetic signal. This system tracks pig without manpower. When the Pig clogging, we can locate Pig between the two adjacent indicators. Therefore, compared to the original technique in the cleaning of the pipeline, the system eliminates the effects of environment, weather, traffic and other objective conditions, reduces labor intensity and saves costs of continual cleaning.
