THE RESEARCH AND APPLICATION OF SAFE CONTROLLED DRILLING IN SALT LAYER
The salt layer can make borehole close in the effect of creep, which often leads to tight hole and pipe sticking. The deviation angle has an important impact on creep rate when drilling directional wells in the salt layer. This paper analyzed the creep property of the salt layers of the given oilfield, the creep constitutive model is given, the creep parameters is given by the mud density and the caliper log data. Consider the geologic condition of the salt layer, Do the numerical calculation of the salt layer creep by Lagrange method, the safe mud density drilling the salt lay ers is decided, at the same time, the effect of the deviation angle to the drilling in the salt layer is analyzed, The conclusion is that on the condition of the major principal stress is overburden pressure, drilling on the orientation of the maximal earth stress, the creep rate increases with the increasing of the deviation angle, the safe mud density also increased, the high deviation angle directional well in salt layers is much more risky. The conclude makes great contribution to the optimizing deviation angle , designing well track and reducing the drilling troubles when drilling directional wells in the salt layer.
