CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF 3CR STEEL IN HIGH H2S/CO2 ENVIRONMENT

Corrosion behavior was investigated with common 3Cr tubing and casing steel through simulation of actual H2 S/CO2 environment in an autoclave. The way how the temperature, water ratio and the partial pressure of H2S and CO2 make an effect on the corrosion pattern of 3Cr was studied, and the micro-morphology and microstructure had been analyzed by means of SEM (scanning e-lectron microscopy), XRD(X-ray diffraction) and EDS(energy dispersive spectrometer) technique. Under the simulation condition of oil-water two-phase, the uniform corrosion rate of 3Cr steel has been significantly decreased; the 3Cr steel experiment of stress corrosion crack (SCC) through simulation of actual H2S/CO2 environment indicates susceptibility for stress-cracking is higher at low temperatures than it is at high temperatures.
