Modification of Carbon Nanotube swith a Silane Coupling Agent
Muti-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were modified by bis(3-triethoxysilylpropyl) tetrasulfide (TESPT) silane in two-step method. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to evaluate the modified MWCNTs. It was confirmed that TESPT was successfully grafted to MWCNTs and the silane modified-MWCNTs resulted in an improved mechanical property in rubber composites.
