The Preparation and Characterization of Rigid Polyimide Foam

Polyimide foam, which has outstanding heat resistance properties, is one of the most heatresistant materials in polymer foams at present. It can be resistant to the high temperature from 250℃ to 300℃ in long-term use and to the high temperature from 400 ℃ to 500℃ in short-term use. Polyimide foam has been widely used in aerospace, marine, national defense, transportation, microelectronics and other high technology fields as key materials like insulations, shock absorption, noise reductions and fire-retardant According to the material species and preparation methods, polyimide foams can be divided into rigid foams, semi-rigid foams and soft (flexible) foams.
