Surface Properties of CNTs Grafted Carbon Fiber Reinforcement
Based on molecular design.the functionalization project of CF and CNTs is studied.CNTs is grafted on the surface of CF by mucleophilic substitution reaction.Mulit-reinforce is prepared and its interface performance is discussed. In various factors of affecting joint strength of carbon fiber reinforced resin matrix composite , bonding force between the interface of carbon fiber and the matrix play a major role, while the bonding force is higher in the interface of two phases of multi-walled carbon nanotubes grafted carbon fiber composite material than the T300 carbon fiber reinforced composites with interface , surface energy of multi-walled carbon nanotubes grafted carbon fiber can be improved compared to ungrafted. The grafted method and quantity is studied by SEM.Beforce and after grafted,CF surface performance is studied.The results show that the surface functional groups percentage.special area and surface roughness degree of grafted carbon fiber was obviously higher than ungrafted carbon fiber.The surface performance of grafted is greatly higher than ungrafted carbon fiber.
