Optimization and Simulation of Automatic Control System for Polypropylene Reaction Process
Continuous stirred tank reactor is widely used in polypropylene production with typical nonlinear, time-varying and large time-delay characteristics. In this paper, an advanced control strategy is applied to the continuous stirred tank reactor in which the polypropylene polymerization reaction takes place. On the basis of analyzing the characteristics of polypropylene production process in detail, the control schemes for feed stage and heating stage are designed using variable ratio control and fuzzy control. Then, the control system is implemented on the multifunction process control platform by using SIMATIC PCS7 BOX. In conclusion, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control schemes are demonstrated by simulation results.
