The application of fuzzy logic in regenerative braking of EV
Regenerative braking can improve energy usage efficiency and prolong the driving distance of electric vehicle per charge, effectively. In the paper, we design a sugenos fuzzy logic controller which has four inputs including drivers braking requirements, vehicle speed, batteries SOC, batteries temperature and one output which is the regenerative braking force. We do some improvement on the force distribution regulation of the original model of VEHSMCAR in ADVISOR. The simulation results show that the vehicle can follows the driving cycle well and batteries SOC, batteries current and motors torque can be improved. The results prove that, under the condition of ensuring braking quality, the fuzzy control logic and the force distribution regulation we design can decrease the consumption of electrical quantity in a driving cycle of CYC_NYCC, improve energy usage efficiency and prolong the driving distance of EV per charge.
