PROGRESS IN STABLE OPERATION OF HIGH POWER GYROTRONS
Due to their ability to produce millimeter-wave power in the MW range in continuous wave operation gyrotrons play an important role in fusion energy research. With the increasing demand for overall millimeter-wave power the power per unit was increased in gyrotron tubes in recent years. Thus 1 MW output power is considered as a standard, prototype tubes with 2 MW output power have been verified successfully.
