New Challenge and Opportunities of MSE and The Role of Materials Scientists in Materials Informatics

摘要：

Biomedical informatics has been an emerging field for decades, while materials informatics is still in its infancy and lacks a generally-accepted and theoretically-grounded definition. This paper mainly discusses and tentatively answers following questions: (1) What is materials informatics? (2) What is the key role of materials scientists in development and application of materials informatics especially focusing on materials science data?
