Spatial Cognition Oriented Connection of Contour Segments

Contour line is one of the primary parts of digital map. Aimed at large numbers of disconnected contours, how to join them is an experienced work. Most of existing methods connected contours using geometry analysis i.e. connecting the nearest two end points, which might lead to new errors. A new algorithm termed as spatial cognition oriented connection of contour segment is put forward in this paper, which picks up the regulations and assist sides of contours so as to confirm the only logic close connection based on analyzing, comparing, and abstracting the neighbor, nesting and hiberarchy relationships. Example illustrates that this algorithm is more scientific to ensure the logic approach of contour line connection
