Design of Public Participation Geographic Information System for Geologic Hazard Warning

摘要：

Active public participation and co-operation of civil society are crucial for effective waming of geologic hazards. It requires the realization of a web-based system that enhances the complex processes of communication, education and dissemination of geologic hazards. In this paper, the methodology of a public participation geographic information system is discussed. The primary categories of interaction process essential to such a system are identified and a generic system model is presented. Based on that,a prototype system was implemented. Given these basic requirements, issues are discussed on how to perfect the public participation geographic information system for geologic hazard warning.
