The Application of Gisway System in Emergent Thematic Mapping

摘要：

Gisway system integrates the functions of general GIS softwares and drawing softwares so that it can perform well in emergent and effective mapping. The system has been used as a mapping platform to make emergent thematic maps for earthquake rescue efforts and other emergent assistance. In this paper, we discuss the characters of emergent mapping and the process of using Gisway platform to make seismic thematic maps for Yushu earthquake. In the end, the paper summarizes the application of Gisway system in quick and effective mapping, and some improvements are brought out.
