Role Based Trust Delegation for P2P Network
Role based trust management b an effective mechanism for the security of large scale distributed systems. In this paper, we present a role-based trust delegation framework (RBTD) for the large scale P2P networks. RBTD is based on two-layer P2P structure that includes two kinds of nodes, namely supernodes and ordinary peers. Supernodes issue role certificates and provide trust management services to the ordinary peers. The role certificates indicate that the holders have particular attributes and are assigned specific roles. A supernode evaluates an ordinary peers trustworthiness by checking the peers role and attributes claimed by the issuer of certificates. After simulating and analyzing, we think that RBTD has good performance and is able to enforce effective trust management in the large scale P2P networks.
