Effect of Alcohol Intake Changes on Human Brain

Objective: To study effects on human brain by changes of alcohol intake through the analysis of characteristics and relationships between alpha waves correlation and alcohol intake. Methods: The EEG data of 16 subjects of different gender were collected during non-drinking and every 30 minutes with log of alcohol intake. We have analyzed cross-correlation of the main electrodes (F3-F4, C3-C4, P3-P4, 01-02) cross the left and right brain, then got figure of correlation variation of alpha wave of different gender. Results: This study found that alpha wave cross-correlation of female and male are maximum value at 30g of alcohol intake and then decline. The male cross-correlation of all brain electrodes are obvious decrease at 20g of alcohol intake and different from the female significantly. Conclusion: 30g alcohol was an important criterion for the moderate alcohol consumption in this experimental condition. In addition, we also found that different drinking way affect the correlation of brain electrodes and fast alcohol intake has a negative impact on the human brain.
